Every young person deserves a fair chance in life. Unfortunately, many vulnerable young people grow up facing challenges that are bigger than they should have to carry at their age. A lack of guidance, difficult home situations, poverty, social pressure, or exclusion often cause them to lose confidence in themselves and in their future.
Rise Above Barriers supports these young people by giving them guidance, structure, and a safe environment where they feel seen and valued.
We believe that with the right support, attention, and opportunities, every young person has the ability to grow, develop, and create a better future for themselves.
Our goal is to prevent vulnerable youth from dropping out of school, becoming socially isolated, or losing direction in life

At Rise Above Barriers, prevention is one of the most important parts of our work.
We try to positively influence the mindset, behaviour, and daily choices of young people through sports, guidance, discipline, and life lessons.
We talk openly with them about their struggles, emotions, insecurities, and the situations they face in daily life. Many of the coaches and mentors within our foundation have their own life experiences and personal stories, which helps us connect with the youngsters on a deeper level.
We don’t believe in judging young people.
We believe in understanding them, guiding them, and helping them make better decisions for their future.
Our mission is to prevent vulnerable youth from ending up on the wrong path and to help them build confidence, responsibility, and structure in their lives.

Sports play a major role within the Rise Above Barriers Foundation.
Sports teach young people important values such as discipline, teamwork, respect, responsibility, mental strength, and perseverance.
Through sports, youngsters learn how to deal with setbacks, pressure, emotions, and challenges in a healthy way. At the same time, sports create connection, structure, and a sense of belonging.
The most common sports within our programs are:
But for us, sports are about more than performance. Sports are a tool to guide, motivate, and positively influence lives.

Guidance is at the heart of everything we do. At Rise Above Barriers, we work closely with vulnerable young people by helping them develop responsibility, discipline, ownership, and structure in their daily lives.
We encourage them to participate positively in society and help them avoid isolation, negative influences, and problematic behaviour.
Sometimes young people simply need somebody who believes in them, listens to them, and keeps guiding them even when life becomes difficult.
Through personal guidance, sports, daily support, and positive role models, we help youngsters rebuild confidence in themselves and their future.
Our goal is not only to help them today—but to prepare them for life.

Many of the young people we work with face personal struggles that are often invisible to the outside world. That is why Rise Above Barriers focuses not only on sports, but also on care, attention, and emotional support.
Some of the most common challenges we help young people deal with are:
We work on building resilience, discipline, self-respect, and emotional strength.
Sometimes something as simple as attention, guidance, a warm meal, clean clothes, or feeling safe can make a huge difference in a child’s life.
We want every young person to know that they matter and that they are not alone.

At Rise Above Barriers, we believe every young person should have a future to look forward to. That is why we help youngsters prepare themselves not only for sports, but also for education, work, and independent life.
We teach life skills that many people take for granted—things like responsibility, discipline, communication, cooking, personal care, dealing with money, and making healthy choices.
We also support young people in finding internships, education opportunities, jobs, or sports opportunities abroad.
Our mission is to help youngsters become independent, confident, and mentally strong individuals who are ready to build a positive future for themselves.
Because when young people start believing in themselves again, their future changes.
